Reservations

  • You must be at least 21 years of age and present tobook a stay with us
  • A valid photo ID is required upon check-in.
  • All requests for booking must include first andlast names of all adults occupying the room and a valid credit card for aguarantee of arrival.
  • Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am.

If you are unable to meet these requirements, please do not book a room with us. By completing the booking process with the Hanson House, you agree to all terms & conditions associated with our facility.

Prices and Taxes
Room charges are subject to Michigan 6% sales taxin addition to the standard room charge. Prices for add on packages are alsosubject to Michigan 6% sales tax. All prices subject to change.

Payment

Payment for reservation in full is due at time ofcheck-in. Please see our cancellation policy for questions on cancelling areservation or shortening your stay.

Important: When you are booking a room, you are reserving a specific room. Reservations will be confirmed after receiving required deposit payment. Please note that your booking is not complete until you receive a confirmation email.
Check-In/Check-OutCheck-in time: 2:00pm
Check-out time: 11:00am

Upon check-in, a charge will be made to your credit or debit card for the total amount remaining after deposit of the room and tax as well as an additional pre-authorization charge of $25 for incidentals. The $25 hold will be returned to your card, depending on your bank’s policy, in 3-10 business days. Late checkouts are not typically available, but we will review requests on a case-by-case basis.

Extending Your Stay

  • If you have already booked your stay with us, you are able to extend your stay (depending on availability) by letting us know before your anticipated arrival.
  • If you are already a guest and would like to stay longer, please let us know at least 24 hours before your check-out date

We will always do our best to accommodate your new plans based on our availability.

Smoking Policy
Breathe easy! The Hanson House is a non-smokingproperty.
This applies to both traditional smoking methods and all electronic delivery systems including vapes, vaporizers, vape pens, hookah pens,electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or e-cigs,) e-pipes, and any variations ofthe foregoing regardless of the product’s name.
Any smoking in the rooms or strong lingering smoke scents in rooms or common areas will result in a $200 room cleaning fee.

Pet Policy
The Hanson House will review pet stays on a case-by-case basis. At our discretion, a maximum two pets per room may be allowed with thefollowing stipulations:

  • Animals must be always on a leash when outside the room.
  • You must clean up after your pets. We have outdoor trash receptacles available near the designated relief area.
  • No pets in the common areas, sorry!
  • Pets cannot be left unattended in rooms at any time.
  • Please be respectful of other guests- if your pet receives multiple noise complaints, we will have no choice but to kindly ask you to find alternate accommodations. We love animals, but we must be mindful of the comfort of all guests.

While we do not charge a pet fee, we do require acredit card preauthorization of $100 in case of damages or mess. Accidents, excessiveshedding or other pet-related cleaning requirements will be charged a 50$cleaning fee to the credit card on file. Should your pet cause property or itemdamage, and incidental fee will be charged at market value to your card onfile. Any funds remaining from the pre-authorization will be released aftercheck-out and, dependent upon your bank’s policy, will reflect on your accountwithin 10 business days.

We are unable to accept pet stay requests for cats, venomous creatures or other animals; dogs only please.

Parking
We offer free onsite parking for our guests. Byparking a vehicle at our facility, you (and your guests) are doing so on yourown accord. The Hanson House does not take responsibility or accept liabilityfor damage, accident or loss to your vehicle or personal property. We reservethe right to tow vehicles.

Room Cleaning Policy
You can expect to arrive to a clean and restockedroom upon check-in. While we do not offer scheduled room refreshes during yourstayof 4 or fewer nights, should you need fresh towels or linen, you can callthe front desk or email for assistance. We are happy to refresh rooms for ourlonger-term guests after 5 nights.

Alcohol Policy
We allow guests to bring their own alcohol onsiteduring their stay. Please discard any empty cans or bottles in the appropriatereceptacles and notify Hanson House staff of any glass breakage or spill stainsimmediately.

Damages
During your stay, we kindly ask that you treatour home with care. It is old and fragile! If you notice any damages orbreakages during your stay, it is expected that Hanson House staff beimmediately notified. Because of the vintage nature of our furniture andfixtures, we expect residual wear and tear will be present. You (the guest) maybe financially responsible for any losses caused by you or a third-partynegligent actions and behavior over and above normal wear and tear, usage ororiginal condition. You will receive a detailed invoice for any charged damagesvia email within 72 hours of your stay.

PLEASE REMEMBER:
The Hanson House is fully non-smoking property. You will befined a $200 cleaning fee if traces of smoking are attributed to you in roomsor common areas. Please see our Smoking Policy for more details.

Guest Safety Policy
As part of our commitment to guest safety,employees will not disclose the identity, room number or presence of a guest toanyone other than appropriate law enforcement. This includes the taking of ordelivery of messages or indirect forwarding of phone calls. It is theresponsibility of guests to communicate their presence and room number to any personthey wish to receive calls or visits from.Safety cameras are used throughout the premises, and anyoneon our property may be recorded.

Firearms Policy
Any guest or visitor who is in possession of afirearm on hotel premises is personally responsible for abiding by allapplicable federal, state and local laws with respect to firearms. Subject tothe following restrictions, guests of Hotel the Hanson House who are lawfullypermitted to possess a firearm may bring such firearm onto hotel premises,provided that the presence of the firearm on hotel premises: is for storagepurposes only; the firearm is and remains at all times unloaded; the firearm isand remains secured in a locked, hard-sided firearm container, provided by theguest, while transported to or from the guest room and while stored therein;and the firearm remains securely safeguarded at all times in a locked guestroom or locked personal vehicle, except when transporting the firearm to orfrom a guest room.Guests who fail to abide by this policy may be asked to leavethe hotel premises, without refund. The hotel premises are private property,and our firearms policy applies to: (i) all firearms, regardless of whether thefirearm is a handgun or a long-barreled gun; and (ii) all guests and visitors,even those possessing a valid license or permit to carry a firearm.The only exception to the restrictions described in thisfirearms policy statement is for law enforcement officers and designatedmilitary personnel, who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in theperformance of their duties.

LiabilityThe Hanson House (the Hotel) isliable only for damage within their control resulting from injuries to life,limb or health. Also, the Hotel is liable for other damage based on intentionalor grossly negligent violations of the Hotel’s duties and/or such violations ofthe Hotel’s duties typical of such contracts. Violations of the Hotel’srepresentatives or vicarious agents are deemed violations of the Hotel. Unlessotherwise provided under damages, any other claims for damages are excluded. Inthe case of Hotel services disruptions or defects, the Hotel will take effortsto remove them once this comes to the Hotel’s attention or once the Clientnotifies it thereof. The Client must reasonably cooperate to remove disruptionsand to minimize damage resulting from this.

Termination
Definition of "without liability": Whenstated in any provision of this Agreement, "without liability" meansthat there will be no liquidated damages, attrition fees, cancellation fees,rental charges, service charges, or any direct, consequential, compensatory,special incidental damages or any other damages or amounts of any naturewhatsoever.Should events beyond the reasonable control ofthe Hanson House and GUEST, including but not limited to (1) acts of God, (2)war, including armed conflict, (3) strikes or labor disputes at the HansonHouse or in the city of Grayling, (4) disease at the Hanson House or in CrawfordCounty (examples of disease: SARS, Legionnaires, COVID-19), (5) governmentregulation or advisory (including travel advisory warnings), (6) civildisturbance at the Hanson House or in the city of Grayling, (7) terrorism orthreats of terrorism in the United States as substantiated by governmentalwarnings or advisory notices, (8) disaster, fire, earthquakes, hurricanes in oraffecting Crawford County, (9) unseasonable extreme inclement weather in CrawfordCounty, (10) shortages or disruption of the electrical power supply causingblackouts or rolling blackouts or other essential utilities in the city ofGrayling, or (11) any other cause reasonably beyond the parties' control(collectively referred to as "occurrences"), making the eventcommercially impracticable, impracticable to perform, illegal, or impossible tofully perform under this Agreement as the Parties originally contracted.In such case the affected Party may terminate this Agreement, withoutliability, upon written notification. Notice under this provision may be givenat any time in advance of the reservation provided that the notifying party hasmet the requirements of this provision.

Check-in/Check-out Policies

This property has the following check-in and check-out times and policies:

Property and Cancelation Policies:

In the instance your plans change, please keep in mind our cancellation policy.

  • Reservations are fully refundable 48 hours prior to check-in.

  • Reservations cancelled 24-48 hours prior to check-in will be credited toward a future stay at equal or lesser value.

  • Cancellations within 24-hours of check-in will not be refunded or credited and will be charged in full.

  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nights not spent 24 hours after the cancellation occurs are 50% refunded.

  • In case of ano-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged and is non-refundable.
  • Cancellations must be acknowledged via email stating the reservation number and will be confirmed upon receipt.

We appreciate you understanding that we are a small, boutique hotel with very limited availability, and therefore are rarely able to make exceptions to our policy.
